Dear Ranger Union is an unofficial fan zine memorializing the love that our community has for the Pokémon Ranger games: Pokémon Ranger (2006), Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia (2008), and Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs (2010). It is a love letter to the series' characters, regions, and the unique gameplay beloved by so many.Dear Ranger Union will feature art of the major characters in the games, all partner Pokémon, and each boss that is faced throughout the series. It will also feature letters the artists write to the Ranger Union detailing their love for the games. This zine will be SFW and appropriate for all ages.

What kind of merchandise will be available?
A digital zine will be available for purchase regardless of the interest check results. Depending on the results, however, we will consider releasing a physical zine or other merch such as stickers or pins.
Who is allowed to apply as a contributor?
We encourage everyone to apply! Even if you have not participated in a zine before, you are welcome to send in a contributor application, and we are explicitly welcoming new contributors to this project. We only ask that you be over the age of 17.
Do I need a Discord account?
This will be the application we use to communicate with our contributors, so we ask that you have a Discord to receive updates and important information.
Will this zine feature any writing?
Depending on the results of the interest check, we may open contributor applications for authors. As of now, we have no plans to do so.
Can I post my art for the zine when I’m done?
We ask that you please refrain from posting your work until the zine is completed. After that time, you may do whatever you’d like with your work.
Will contributors be compensated?
We will send a free zine to each contributor, regardless of whether they are physical or digital. If there is other merchandise we plan on including in a bundle, they will also receive free pieces of those as well.
Where will the zine’s profits go?
Any profits gained from the Dear Ranger Union zine will go towards a charity determined by the contributors at the time of onboarding.
Who are the mods of this project?
The mods of this project will be introduced via social media during the interest check period, after which they will be in the "Mods" tab of this Carrd.

Our schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
Thank you for your patience!

This zine will contain square portraits (2000x2000) of your completed work, alongside a letter to the Ranger Union about your love for the Rangers games. If you are not comfortable writing this, this may not be the zine for you, however, a mod (or another contributor) may be willing to write it for you depending on the number of contributors involved with the zine and current workload. When applying for the contributor position, we require:
- A portfolio containing 5 of your works
- 3 pieces that you consider your best (these can be pieces that are included in your portfolio)
We prefer that at least one of these pieces feature Pokémon, but it is not required. If you do not have a portfolio, please link to an art blog or social media where you post your work.Contributors will have from the time of onboarding to the submission of finals to complete their pieces. This is estimated to be a four-month-long time period. Check-in three will be on 12/7/2023, at which time, if you do not feel you will complete your piece before the deadline, we will assign a pinch hitter to take your place. If you have not started your piece by this time, we highly recommend giving your slot to a pinch hitter. As stated in the FAQ, all contributors will receive a free copy of the zine as compensation for their work. Whether this is a physical or digital zine is entirely up to the results of our Interest Check and will be announced via our social media. During the time of onboarding, a poll will be taken among the contributors to decide upon a charity that the proceeds will be donated.Thank you for considering becoming a contributor for Dear Ranger Union! Good luck!

Hello, Mod N here! I'm the organizer/treasurer of this zine! As soon as I became a contributor for a couple of zines, I immediately knew I wanted to organize one for the Pokémon Rangers series.I'm aware that I have not built much of an online presence (due to how busy I can get IRL), but recently I've had a lot more free time to participate in fan projects. I'm confident in my skills as a leader, I've done my research on zine production, and I know that with everyone's help, we can make something incredible.I know this project will take a lot of work, and I'm ready to take that plunge! I want to make a fantastic project that the community deserves.

I'm Mod Magpie, an overall right-hand man, and assistant for Mod N. I'm known better on Tumblr as atelierr.I was an artist on Moonscented (vermillionzines) and have been a part of multiple collaborative projects in the past. Getting to help a dear friend of mine with one has been an honour and a pleasure. While my focus strays from the themes of Rangers, I hope my contributions serve as encouragement to broaden my horizons.
